Carved from a single solid log, the form rises through a series of open, pierced voids that give the piece a lightness completely at odds with the density of the material. It reads differently from every angle, and from a distance it has the quiet authority of a totem or a figurative monument.

The wood itself is exceptional. Spalting and natural pigmentation run through the grain in dark, irregular veins, and the warm tonal variation across the surface gives the piece a richness that no applied finish could replicate. The natural oils simply protect what was already there.
