A sculpture carved from a single solid log, the form is abstract and figurative at the same time, suggesting a figure, a link, or simply the wood finding its own logic. The negative space cut through the piece is as considered as the material left behind, and the whole object has a quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly what it is.

The natural finish brings out the warmth and grain of the wood, with tonal variation, small knots, and the smooth, continuous surface that only hand carving can produce. It is the kind of piece that changes character depending on where you stand.
