This piece shows what happens when the wood is allowed to lead. Carved from a single solid log, the form follows the natural movement of the timber rather than imposing geometry onto it. The whole piece has an organic fluidity that no machine could produce and no two logs could replicate.

The natural finish reveals the full warmth and complexity of the wood, with tonal shifts between heartwood and sapwood, small knots, fine checking, and a surface that rewards close attention. It is the kind of object that looks different in morning light than it does in the evening.
