Carved from a single solid log, the form flows continuously from base to backrest without a single joint or seam, and the grain follows that movement across every surface in sweeping, expressive arcs. The figuring in this particular piece of timber is exceptional, with deep swirling patterns and rich tonal variation that make the wood itself the main event.

The seat is shaped to receive the body naturally, and the tall backrest rises with a quiet elegance that feels resolved rather than designed. It is comfortable in the way that only hand-carved wood can be, shaped by eye and touch rather than by measurement.
