Charred Geometric Side Table/Bench – Suspended Planes in Tension

This side table/bench is a study in balance and rhythm. Composed of bold, rectangular forms connected by slender brass rods, it appears to float in layers of tension and light. Charred to a deep matte black, the solid wood blocks form a dramatic silhouette—both architectural and elemental.

Handcrafted using the Shou Sugi Ban technique, the surface reveals a refined texture while preserving the density of the grain. The negative space framed at its core offers an invitation to pause—an interplay between structure and stillness, mass and void.
