About Logniture
Furniture as sculpture.
Logniture makes functional art from solid wood. Each piece begins as raw timber and ends as a chair, table, bench, sink or bathtub that carries the character of the tree it came from.
The work
We work at the edge between furniture and sculpture. A bench can hold weight the same way a piece of art holds attention. A side table can carve its own silhouette instead of following a straight line. Every object we make is meant to be used, and to be looked at.
The material
Everything starts with solid wood, never veneer or engineered board. Grain, knots, cracks and natural irregularities are not hidden. They are part of the design. No two pieces of timber are identical, so no two finished pieces are identical either.
The process
Each piece is shaped by hand, from the initial carving through sanding and finishing. Natural oils and waxes seal and protect the wood while keeping its texture and warmth. The process follows the material’s own form rather than forcing it into a predetermined shape.
One of a kind
Logniture pieces are not produced in series. Because each one starts from a unique piece of timber, exact repetition is not possible, and it is not the goal. What you see in a product’s photographs is the piece itself, not a representative sample of a production run.
