This sculptural side table is a one-of-a-kind creation, hand-carved from a single solid hardwood log and finished in deep black through the traditional shou sugi ban charring technique. Its branching legs twist and merge in an organic rhythm, creating open spaces that evoke roots or skeletal structures. The design balances raw natural energy with an architectural sense of stability.

The top preserves the tree’s circular growth rings, now darkened and sealed, while the carved body reveals subtle patterns beneath the matte-black finish. The surface texture, at once smooth and tactile, emphasizes the interplay of light and shadow across the sculpted form.

Made with chainsaws, carving tools, and open flame, the piece embodies a direct, intuitive process that honors the material while transforming it into functional art. It works as a side table, pedestal, or sculptural accent, equally suited for interiors that embrace wabi-sabi imperfection, Japandi minimalism, or contemporary boldness.

Finished with natural oils and waxes to protect the charred surface while preserving its depth and texture. Designed and made in Europe by Logniture, a studio dedicated to transforming raw timber into expressive, heirloom-grade furniture.
