The piece
The piece
This striking chair is a one-of-a-kind functional sculpture, carved from a single piece of wood to ensure absolute structural integrity. Its design features an abstract, high backrest and a rounded seat that emerge from an organic base, creating a silhouette that feels like a prehistoric artifact rediscovered for a contemporary space. The piece represents a bold exploration of volume, serving as both a ceremonial seat and a powerful work of art.
The entire form is treated with a deep ebonized finish, giving the timber a rich, matte black tone that unifies its complex, organic geometry. This finish accentuates the handcrafted character, highlighting a surface with tool marks while allowing natural fissures and the wood’s inherent grain to remain visible. The top of the seat displays original growth rings and radial checking, providing a tactile connection to the material’s history.
Built for structural permanence, the chair rests on robust, organic legs that maintain a sense of grounded, primitive stability. Its architectural profile makes it an ideal focal point for minimalist, industrial, or avant-garde interiors that value raw craftsmanship and the dark elegance of natural materials. A signature metal logo medallion is inlaid near the base of the leg as a mark of its handcrafted origin.
Designed and made in Europe by Logniture, a studio dedicated to transforming raw timber into expressive, heirloom-grade furniture.
